Description
Three-faced Guanyin refers to the statue of Guanyin with three faces, the front face of Guanyin holding a sutra box, the right face of Guanyin holding a lotus flower, and the left face of Guanyin holding a rosary bead, which symbolize wisdom, peace, and benevolence in that order. Each Dharma image contains a great intelligence and induction function, which can increase blessing and wisdom, and blessing and peace.
The front face of Kuan Yin holding the scripture chest symbolizes Kuan Yin's virtue of prajna, i.e. wisdom. Guanyin holding the rosary beads on the left side embodies Guanyin's virtue of liberation, i.e., getting rid of ignorance and all kinds of worries and fetters to achieve the realm of great freedom and liberty, and expresses the spirit of compassion that "all living beings think of the Buddha, and the Buddha thinks of all living beings" in the same way. On the right side, Guanyin is holding a lotus flower, reflecting the virtue of Guanyin's Dharma body. The statue of Guanyin represents the overall image of Guanyin's "great compassion and happiness for all beings, great compassion for the suffering of all beings". It is a spiritual symbol of "compassion", "wisdom" and "peace".
The sutra suitcase represents 600 volumes of the Prajna Sutra, which means that Guanyin is "self-sacrificing, wise and compassionate", not only self-sacrificing, but also altruistic, observing all sentient beings and transforming them to be self-sacrificing, enlightening the wisdom of all sentient beings with the wisdom of Prajna.
Overall, it expresses Guanyin's purity and the six roots of enlightenment.
