In Buddhism, Sakyamuni is considered to be the most honored person in the world, so disciples and followers often refer to Sakyamuni as the World Honored One. Buddha is not a god, but a person whose realm exceeds that of a god, because all the Buddhas were born on earth as mortals. From the Ming Dynasty onwards, the Han Chinese honored Sakyamuni as Rulai Buddha or Buddha, or simplified and combined to be known as Rulai Buddha, while the Manchus in the Qing Dynasty called Sakyamuni Master Buddha.
