Description
Green Tara is an incarnation of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Tara, the Sanskrit name for the Holy Mother of Goddess of Mercy, is known in ancient China as Dora Bodhisattva and Dora Guanyin. There are many different incarnations of Tara, including the Twenty-one Degrees of Motherhood, the Five Hundred Degrees of Motherhood, and so on, all of which are the incarnations of Guanyin, and the Green Tara is the principal of all of them, summing up all of the merits of the other twenty incarnations. She is also known as the "Mother of Eight Difficulties" as she can save eight kinds of sufferings, such as fire, lion, elephant, snake, water, prison, thief and non-human.
