Description
Fudo Buddha, "The Unshakable One", head of the Vajra division, is one of the Five Meditation Buddhas or Five Wisdom Rudras , representing the fully purified "embodiment" or the body of the Harmonious Aggregation. In the Natural Liberation, the Unmovable Buddha represents the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom, which cures anger, one of the five poisons. In Tibetan, he is known as "mikshobhya", i.e.: not moved by anger or evil annoyance, and is an extremely potent principal deity in purifying bad karma and removing obstacles and restraining calamities.
Immovable Buddha, never retiring and unshakable, with his bakra in the east, representing the Vajra division. Fudo Buddha is blue in color and sits on a lotus throne carried by elephants, symbolizing steadfastness and strength. In his right hand, he makes the sign of touching the ground to indicate unshakability, and in his left hand, he holds a mortar and pestle, which he places on his knee. The mortar and pestle symbolizes the enlightened mind, the indestructible, steadfast nature of the original realization, or the essence of the reality of victory.
